The Greenwood Concert Band

Since 1997
William Blayney, Music Director

Our Last Concert was July 24th 2011. We’ll be playing again in July 2012!

Hello and thanks for stopping by!  GCB is a community-based organization from the Greenwood area of Seattle.  We practice all year round, but normally only give concerts during the wonderful month of July.  You’ll find us all around town: The Ballard Locks, Swedish Cultural Center, even Benaroya Hall!.

Of course, all our concerts are free and open to the public.  We play a wide variety of music: Tchaikovsky, von Suppe, Sousa, Fillmore, George M. Cohan, Edwin Franko Goldman, Rossini, Shostakovich, etc.  You will always feel like you just heard a concert in the park from the good old days!

The Greenwood Concert Band was founded in 1997 by William Blayney.  The band is comprised of over 50 musicians from all walks of life.  Each concert is unique and features some of the finest soloists in America. The Greenwood Concert Band is self-supporting and always in search of sponsors and benefactors. If you would like to help support the band, please contact the webmaster through the link at the bottom of the page. We hope you’ll stop by to enjoy the music in July!

In the meantime, here’s a player with music from our last concert. Enjoy!
